Saturation Diving Abyssal Leviathan Survival Guide
Survive an Abyssal Leviathan encounter with early warnings, cover discipline, calm retreats, and crew recovery.
How do you survive the Abyssal Leviathan?
Reduce open-water exposure and move as one group toward known cover. Stop optional objectives, keep the return landmark visible, and let Spotter track direction without chasing. Captain should choose the cover lane before the creature controls the shortest route to extraction.
What should happen before crossing open water?
Confirm far-side cover, return direction, oxygen allowance, and pressure margin before leaving the current anchor. If any is unknown, scan from cover or choose a shorter route.
| Pre-crossing question | Go condition |
|---|---|
| Is the far anchor mapped? | Every player can name it |
| Is the return lane open? | Spotter confirms no closing contact |
| Can pressure support the crossing? | Engineer reports positive margin |
| Is oxygen reserved for return? | Calculator remains positive after contingency |
| Can the slowest player keep pace? | Salvager load does not split formation |
Does light or sonar attract the Leviathan?
Do not assume a guaranteed trigger without current observation; use minimal, purposeful activity. One scan should answer whether the lane is clear. One light should identify the next anchor. The Spotter guide explains contact-trend callouts.
What is the best escape route?
Escape toward terrain that shortens exposure and preserves the known return chain. Do not descend deeper merely because it looks open, and do not split around both sides of a mound.
Which loadout gives the best margin?
Use positive pressure margin, enough oxygen for forced return, and cargo light enough for group movement. Compare current values in the upgrade chart.
Where is the encounter most dangerous?
The encounter is most dangerous where late-route terrain forces an exposed crossing. Review Abyssal Hollow, Black Mound, and the role tier list.
