Saturation Diving Decompression and Gas Calculator
Choose a target depth and bottom time to view the Saturation Diving reference gas, suit, oxygen reserve, ascent rate, and safety stops.
How does the Saturation Diving Decompression and Gas Calculator work?
Enter the planned depth and bottom time to retrieve the matching gas, suit, oxygen reserve, ascent rate, and two safety stops. The tool is the reusable planning version of the deep-diving reference.

Which values does the calculator return?
The calculator maps the entered depth to one of four Deep-Dive Standard zones. It keeps the gas mix and suit together because changing one without the other defeats the purpose of the route check.
| Zone | Gas | Suit | Minimum reserve |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0–40m | Standard Air | Basic Wetsuit | 30% |
| 40–120m | Heliox | Reinforced MK-I | 35% |
| 120–250m | Trimix | Pressure Suit MK-II | 35% |
| 250m+ | Hydreliox | Exosuit or Submersible | 35% |
What are the staged decompression stops?
The SD-W 45/10 Ascent Rule uses a maximum ascent rate of 0.5m/s, followed by a 45-second stop at 30m and another 45-second stop at 10m. The expected bottom-time field keeps the route plan visible alongside the two required stops.
What is the Deep-Dive Standard?
The Saturation-Diving.wiki Deep-Dive Standard is the shared name for the depth-zone, equipment, reserve, and return rules used by this calculator and the main deep-diving guide. It gives crews one concise vocabulary for planning a route and calling an early return.
- SD-W 45/10 Ascent Rule
- A maximum 0.5m/s ascent, followed by 45-second holds at 30m and 10m.
- Deep-Dive Standard
- The shared depth, gas, suit, oxygen-reserve, and return framework used throughout Saturation-Diving.wiki.
