Saturation Diving Engineer Guide
Manage valves, decompression systems, repairs, and emergency recovery as the Engineer in Saturation Diving.
What does the Engineer do in Saturation Diving?
The Engineer protects the systems that let the crew continue or retreat. Watch valves, decompression controls, damaged equipment, and any pressure-related warning. When a fault appears, state what failed, whether the route remains safe, and what the crew must stop doing while the repair is in progress.
What is the Engineer’s repair order?
Restore survival and extraction first, then objective efficiency. A useful repair order is pressure safety, oxygen continuity, route access, mobility, and finally mining or convenience systems.
| Priority | System question | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Can the crew remain at this depth? | Stabilize pressure or begin retreat |
| 2 | Can everyone breathe through the delay? | Protect oxygen and shorten the objective |
| 3 | Is extraction still reachable? | Clear or preserve the return route |
| 4 | Can the crew move and communicate? | Restore essential equipment |
| 5 | Can the objective resume safely? | Repair production and mining systems |
How should an Engineer handle valves and decompression?
Treat every valve or chamber action as a team event, not a private minigame. Tell the Captain before changing a system that can affect pressure, movement, or access. Confirm the crew is ready, make one change, observe the result, and avoid stacking several unknown adjustments during an emergency.
- Identify the affected compartment, route, or diver.
- Announce the intended action.
- Confirm the controlled area is clear.
- Make the minimum required change.
- Report whether the system is stable, temporary, or still failing.
What equipment should the Engineer upgrade?
Choose pressure margin and reliable recovery before extra cargo or mining speed. Use the verified upgrades guide to compare current paths.
How does Engineer work with other roles?
Engineer needs clean information from Spotter and a firm decision from Captain. Spotter reports whether the repair area is safe, Captain decides how long the crew can hold, and Salvager protects or drops cargo so the return remains possible.
Is Engineer the best solo class?
Engineer is the safest general solo choice because one player must recover every system problem. For a familiar farming route, Salvager may produce more value; for a new route, Engineer is more forgiving. Compare the role tier list and getting started guide.
